چکیده

This study presents a novel coupled meshless model for simulating acoustic wave propagation in heterogeneous media, based on the singular boundary method (SBM) and Kansa’s (KS). In proposed approach, SBM was used to homogeneous part of domain, while KS employed heterogeneity. The interface compatibility conditions associated with velocities pressures were imposed couple two methods. SBM–KS approach combines respective advantages KS. is especially suitable solving external sound field problems, attractive nonlinear problems bounded non-homogeneous media. Moreover, new methodology completely avoids grid generation numerical integration compared finite element method. Numerical experiments verified accuracy effectiveness scheme.

Acoustic Wave Propagation in Complicated Geometries and Heterogeneous Media

Weconstruct finite difference discretizations of the acousticwave equation in complicated geometries and heterogeneous media. Particular emphasis is placed on the accurate treatment of interfaces at which the underlying media parameters have jump discontinuities. Discontinuousmedia is treated by subdividing the domain into blockswith continuousmedia. The equation on each block is then discretiz...

Space-Time Multiscale Model for Wave Propagation in Heterogeneous Media

Abstract: A space-time multiscale model for wave propagation in heterogeneous media is developed. The model builds on the authors’ previous work on the higher-order mathematical homogenization theory with multiple spatial and temporal scales, and is aimed at addressing the issues of stability and mathematical consistency. Starting from the weak forms of homogenized macroscopic equations of moti...

A high-order discontinuous Galerkin method for wave propagation through coupled elastic-acoustic media

We introduce a high-order discontinuous Galerkin (dG) scheme for the numerical solution of three-dimensional (3D) wave propagation problems in coupled elastic-acoustic media. A velocity-strain formulation is used, which allows for the solution of the acoustic and elastic wave equations within the same unified framework. Careful attention is directed at the derivation of a numerical flux that pr...

Perfectly Matched Layers equations for 3D acoustic wave propagation in heterogeneous media

This work is dedicated to the analysis of Berenger PML method applied to the 3D linearized Euler equations without advection terms, with variable wave velocity and acoustic impedance. It is an extension of a previous work presented in a 2D context [8]. The 3D linearized Euler equations are used to simulate propagation of acoustic waves beneath the subsurface. We propose an analysis of these equ...

Discretization of a hybrid model for acoustic wave propagation in layered fluid media∗

The objective is to construct and discretize (to fourth-order accuracy) a hybrid model for waveguide problems, where a finite difference method for inhomogeneous layers is coupled to a boundary element method (BEM) for a set of homogeneous layers. Such a hybrid model is adequate for underwater acoustics in complicated environments. Waveguides with either plane or axial symmetry are treated, whi...
